The doctor I saw was great! But after that I was never able to see him even though I have an $80 copay for a specialist ( not the specialists staff). The last nurse I saw even said she’s new and not familiar with my issues. No one was on the same page. They recommended 2 different medications but couldn’t tell me why. They don’t respond in a reasonable amount of time. In addition to this…I was in the waiting room today and one of the staff members was openly and rudely addressing one of the patients issues with getting a prescription. The way she spoke to him was distasteful and should have done in private. I NEVER write reviews but I would want someone to warn me about this!

I was completely dismissed by Dr. Tran when I came in months ago and within 10 minutes of seeing me she just suggested I take Klonopin every day for 6 months and then circle back. Refused to do a sleep study until I tried that first. It did not sit right with me to throw benzos at a problem with no context and every other doctor on my team has agreed with me that it was irresponsible. The sleep specialist I'm seeing now ordered a several day at home sleep test right away and it's already tracking 20-47 wake ups per night, and was appalled that another doctor's first line of defense was to start an addiction. So not only was her advice dangerous, but her dismissal of my symptoms meant I went untreated for another several months with something that's affecting my quality of life.

I've never seen more unprofessionalism in a doctor's office than I did at my first visit to Bucks County Medical Associates. I will leave it at that because I don't feel like typing pages. Find someone else to deal with. They are horrible. The nurse practitioner was excellent, but the office staff is the worst and a bit rude.

Dr. Tran is amazing and if it weren't for my struggles with the office itself this review would be 5 stars. She's attentive, brilliant, listens well, and considers the whole patient. Unfortunately, trying to deal with the office is quite frustrating. I can't remember the last time I spoke to a person when I called--I spend days playing phone tag waiting for someone to respond at a time I can answer (I work 8-5 and spend almost all day in meetings). They also don't schedule out appointments 6 months in advance (despite that some of us only see our physicians every 6 months). Also, it's impossible to speak to your physician directly unless you are able to get an appointment with them, which is next to impossible for short-term issues (i.e., when I caught RSV and needed steroids I played phon

Dr. Acharya is wonderful. But whoever “ROBIN” is in the office is absolutely horrible!! Long story short, she had the audacity to be rude, arrogant, and condescending to me over the phone since I was trying to get ahold of Dr Acharya. She kept mentioning my CT scan wasn’t ordered by him, saying it as if to make a point that therefore it’s not important to them even though Dr Acharya knew I was getting it done and said he would talk to me about my results if I’d like since it would show my lungs. This woman, Robin, was incredibly rude and unprofessional and combative. I had to remind her that she’s not a doctor but since she’s taken such an interest in MY business well, my results mentioned something about possibly a collapsed lung so yeah I’d like to get my pulmonologists opinion!!! Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C.
What does Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C. do?
Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C. is a sleep medicine clinic in DOYLESTOWN, PA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C.?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C. directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C.?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Bucks County Medical Associates, P.C.?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
