The staff at Baptist Hospital were absolutely wonderful. Check-in was really fast and I was taken immediately to my room for my outpatient surgery. The hospital is older but it was immaculate. I especially want to recognize my nurse April, who was so kind and supportive . She went out of her way to get information on when they were going to do my surgery and helped get me back there sooner rather than later. She also kept my wife and me laughing with her bubbly personality. Another nurse, Jo, made checking out after surgery fast and painless. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Baptist.

Hello. I was a patient at Baptist Memorial on June 25th. I came to have a very important surgery done. From the beginning all the way through until it was time for me to be discharged, the ENTIRE staff was super nice and helpful. I had 2 different nurses, I guess because of shift changes but they all were amazing! I never felt like I was just a patient, they laughed with me, keep me informed on what all was going on and treated me with such great care and compassion. Thank you to Janice RN, POS , April RN, and Christine UC, OPS on the SECOND floor. Thank ya'll for taking great care of me! I am 15 days post surgery and doing well. Huge thanks to my Surgeon and my Father in Heaven. God you are faithful.

Only a five star for a few employees! Shelby in labor and delivery is AMAZING! Mike in anesthesia is also AMAZING! There were several more on labor and delivery that was just hands down amazing however there is always those who we don’t care for. All in all I was very pleased this year w my stay and experience especially the Cafeteria lady! She went above and beyond to get me everything I wanted! All I know is she is a supervisor, I wish I would have gotten her name also!🙌🏼

The staff and MRI tech were so kind and helpful. They had patience and comforting words for my son, who was the patient. He is autistic, but he was so calm during the whole procedure. Wonderful staff! Thank you for all your help.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center

What does Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center do?

Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in New Albany, MS that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
