The staff there was amazing very helpful and explained everything very well. I'm giving 2 stars because I've called a few times already and so has my doctor's office to get my results that I need before an upcoming appointment and when I call I'm told that the doctor hasn't looked at it but when my doctors office called they uploaded the wrong patients stuff to my file and my doctor's office was told they just needed to swap paperwork. It's been almost a month since getting my sleep study done

The technician was a wonderful woman. She explained everything, made me feel at home, was cheerful and efficient. My study was originally rescheduled because they had staffing issues on the original date. If the tech last night was stressed due to understaffing, she hid it extremely well. I wish this old brain could remember her name.

My night there was great! Meghann made me feel at home and she was extremely friendly and helped me when I needed help! She made sure I understood what she was doing every step of the way! I wanted to be woke up at 430 for work and that's what she did and I got showered and out the door by 5. And was at work on time! Thank you Meghann! I would recommend sleep center to anyone!

Do NOT waste your time. My husband has used a c pap machine for years, but according to their preliminary results, he no longer qualified. They wouldn't let him take anything to sleep until he was hooked up around 11 pm, so he was wide awake. He's had many surgeries,so he was in so much pain, he couldn't relax. On top of that, the walls were very thin, so he could hear everything. The bright lights were on in the hallway all night long, so that kept him up as well. At home he sleeps like a rock. The workers were unsympathetic to his situation and said since he didn't have enough events by 2 am, he didn't qualify. He stated he didn't even fall asleep until almost 2 am. Here we are weeks later and still waiting on results. The doctor's office has tried and failed as well. I wish we had read

The technician was very nice. The experience was terrible! I was there at 8pm. Wasn't put in bed until close to 11pm. Was woken up at 6am. Then I was rushed to get out. To the point that she had my belongings in her hand trying to get me to take them and get out. I live 40 miles from there. It was cold outside. I was disoriented. I just read that they are open until 8am. They should let you sit until you can drive responsibly. I'm surprised they haven't had a lawsuit. It has been 3 weeks and my results still haven't been read.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Anderson Hospital Sleep Center

What does Anderson Hospital Sleep Center do?

Anderson Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Maryville, IL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Anderson Hospital Sleep Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Anderson Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Anderson Hospital Sleep Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Anderson Hospital Sleep Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
