I felt I was well cared for in all areas. The PCT assigned to me was very attentive, compassionate and empathetic. I ended up spending the 1st night Post-op on the 6th floor for pain managementbefor discharge. My pain was managed because medication was administered exactly when due without needing to ask. The PCT was attentive and arrived shortly after I put my call light on (for bathroom assistance. The meals I received were delicious and ample. The banana was PERFECT. I had never had Chicken bacon but now I have it on my grocery list. My room was clean, spacious and decorative. The equipment was all in working order (which fell short when I was an employee) The bed was actually comfortable. A pleasant surprise! Thank-you Advent Waterman for better care than I expected and a pleasant exp

My time spent at waterman during my bypass surgery was great. Dr Allen performed the mid cab robotic assist bypass. He and his staff were great. My post surgery care on 2S in CICU was excellent. All the nurses over my time spent treated me with care and answered all my questions and set me at ease when I needed som extra care. Joan, Maria, Bethany, Brittney, Prapa, and Bekah, all did a phenomenal job. Each one of them had the right skill set and personality when I needed it the most. Thank you!!!

The best hospital ever. I have to start off by saying they have the most amazing labor and delivery department I’ve ever come across. All of the nurses were so attentive and supportive through this whole experience, as a first time mom. Kim, Sarah, Brynn, Taylor, Michelle Vaun, Misty, and even the anesthesiologist Janice, I will never forget you wonderful ladies, thank you for making my child birthing experience once in a lifetime. I highly recommend Waterman for any expecting mom!

The nurses back in the room in emergency were absolutely great! The transport people were wonderful. The technicians did a good job. I would have liked more information and to have expectations set on the floor when I transferred from the emergency department. Overall a good experience.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care I received during my stay at Waterman. From the moment I was admitted to Labor and Delivery through the day I was discharged, every single person I encountered was exceptional. The nurses were absolutely incredible—kind, compassionate, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure I felt comfortable and supported. They went above and beyond in every way, and their warmth and professionalism made such a difference during one of the most important moments of my life. The doctors were equally amazing. They were thorough, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer every question, making me feel confident and cared for throughout the entire process. What stood out most was that every member of the team—from admissions and support staff t

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about AdventHealth Waterman

What does AdventHealth Waterman do?

AdventHealth Waterman is a sleep medicine clinic in Tavares, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at AdventHealth Waterman?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact AdventHealth Waterman directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at AdventHealth Waterman?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at AdventHealth Waterman?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
