Disappointing experience after waiting so long for my MSLT sleep study to be done here at Advantage. During my daytime nap, I was woken up by a man that came in the building and was talking to my sleep tech, Dawn, very very loudly. I first thought it was the patient in the room next to me talking on the phone on sneaker, but I was in a daze after being woken and quickly realized what was happening. There was absolutely nothing done by front desk staff and Dawn to say there was a current nap in progress, and to come back in 15 min or any attempt to talk lower or cut this conversation off at any point. After they were chatting it up for over 5 min, (they appeared to be familiar and buddy buddy with each other given the nature of the conversation) I gave up trying to fall back asleep and bega

My experience with the staff here was above and beyond! Everyone I came in contact with for 2 sleep studies and cpap instruction was so pleasant. That's rare to find every employee that way! I wish I could remember all their names but I do recall Joy, Kim and Ginny. These women and the one I can't remember are an asset to your company. I really appreciated the thorough instruction from Ginny about the machine! I told her she was a great teacher. I would recommend my friends to go here if they needed a sleep study.

I recently had a sleep study with a CPAP machine. This place did not use distilled water in their machine. The machine looked dirty. I should have walked out as soon as they told me they didn’t use distilled water and I saw the machine. I ended up with a respiratory infection. It’s a disgrace that any healthcare facility does not follow proper procedure.

I had an appointment with Ginny to learn how to use my new CPAP machine. She was very thorough and easy to understand although I found her to be very condescending especially when asked a question. She thinks she gets away with it but she doesn’t. The next day I called back and someone with a heavy smokers voice answered, I think her name was Kim. I told her I couldn’t tolerate the smell of the nasal pillow. She said “wash it” I didn’t know that would actually help and I could have used more of an explanation not “I’ve been here for 18 years and I never heard that” I Told her there are other complaints of the smell on the internet. She was so rude I couldn’t continue the conversation. I told her I would let Dr. Ferroni’s office know about my experience. She didn’t care. I spoke to a very

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Advantage Sleep Centers

What does Advantage Sleep Centers do?

Advantage Sleep Centers is a sleep medicine clinic in Sewell, NJ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Advantage Sleep Centers?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Advantage Sleep Centers directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Advantage Sleep Centers?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Advantage Sleep Centers?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
