Very disappointed with the communication and customer service from this place. We were never sent any reminders about my daughter’s appointment, nor did anyone call to notify us beforehand. However, when it came time to collect payment, they had no problem calling multiple times, not only me, but my wife as well and even left voicemails. It’s frustrating that there was such urgency for payment, but not the same effort to help ensure we actually made this important appointment for my daughter. Now we’re being told we have to reschedule and wait another 6 weeks. Completely unacceptable and very disappointing experience overall. DO NOT RECOMMEND, very transactional and lack of attentiveness to their clients.

I went to the westside location many years ago and had a very bad experience with the support staff. I waited as long as I could before addressing my sleep apnea problems. I finally agreed to try the Lomaland location. The initial visit was good and the office held up their end of the deal. Once the insurance paid up, it seems like I'm being "ghosted"...No opportunity to ask any questions and that's when they actually pick up the phone. I recommend you either try this business very cautiously or seek another sleep study resource.

My mom had a sleep test and I went to pick up her. The technician told me that she was gone. My mom has dementia. How can they can’t take care of their patients? Then l went to the street to look for my mom. Then the employee called me to tell me that my mom was there. I wait to speak with the manager. Never called me back. Never is someone who is in charge. There are only employees and the doctor. I don’t recommend this place. Then l requested a prescription for my medical supplies and they didn’t gave me a prescription they send a prescription to a place outside of El Paso. I usted to get my medical supplies at one local store. I don’t like the way they work.

They were great with my granddaughter. The people are so nice and caring. She was 11 years old when she had her sleep study done. They let me stay the night with her. They were very accommodating. In fact I'm calling my insurance today so that I can change the provider so I can have my study done here.

Worst experience in this clinic , did test begining 2025 it's January 2026 and I can't still use the machine. It took like 4 months to get proper mask, paying almost full price to just get the mask and not waste time because always blaming insurance. Now I have the mask but now there's no tech to check and adjust my machine they are in the westside, when I called a day before and never inform when I told him I'll got the next day to get machin check. Now I need to wait until end of January for my appointment to see the doctor... If nobody is here or there is no tech! Pero Buenos para cobrar!!!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about 8 Hour Sleep Clinic

What does 8 Hour Sleep Clinic do?

8 Hour Sleep Clinic is a sleep medicine clinic in El Paso, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at 8 Hour Sleep Clinic?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact 8 Hour Sleep Clinic directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at 8 Hour Sleep Clinic?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at 8 Hour Sleep Clinic?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
